On July 12 and 19, 2023, we successfully conducted a special two-day seminar for preschool and primary education teachers, focusing on introducing them to digital animation development platforms. The seminar was organized as part of the implementation of the Erasmus+ project “Digital ECEC” and took place at the IEK DELTA 360° in Patras.
Educators from preschool and primary education participated, having the opportunity to enhance their knowledge in digital animation creation tools through the developed digital platform. In a friendly and enthusiastic atmosphere, participants exchanged ideas and discovered new possibilities to incorporate into their lessons.
The seminar began with the introduction of the Digital ECEC project team, welcoming the participants, presenting the seminar’s objectives, and showcasing the digital platform that provides tools for promoting digital learning in kindergarten. Subsequently, through an ice-breaking activity, participants had the chance to get to know each other and foster a collaborative and team spirit.
The first day of the seminar focused on introducing the participants to the tools provided by the educational platform. The basic functions and capabilities of the tools, as well as their installation and usage, were demonstrated.
Participants had the opportunity to practice using the tools through various exercises and examples. With enthusiasm and creativity, they explored the possibilities offered for children’s engagement and development in digital learning.
On the second day of the seminar, participants had the opportunity to present the group projects they had prepared and discuss the different approaches they used. Through this open discussion, they exchanged perspectives, drew inspiration from their colleagues’ ideas, and developed new proposals and improvements.
At the end of the seminar, Panagiotis G. Anastasopoulos and Charitini-Maria Skoulidi concluded the workshop by presenting the participation certificates. The teachers who participated left excited, having acquired new knowledge to leverage technology for enhancing learning in schools. We hope this seminar will be a significant addition to their educational horizon.
