Workshops were recently conducted, within the implementation framework of project AWARE, aiming at testing AWARE Masterclass and AWARE Self-assessment Kit “Cyber-Guardian” in national context and raising awareness within VET sector. We organised and implemented the two-day workshops in Patras, Greece, targeting VET (Vocational Education and Training) learners and educators. The events unfolded between the 21st and 24th of November 2023 and were hosted by IEK Delta, in Patras, marking a significant milestone in enhancing digital literacy and cybersecurity awareness among participants.
AWARE Masterclass, a meticulously designed online learning resource, played a central role in the workshops. Tailored for VET teachers and learners, this masterclass aims to equip individuals with essential skills to navigate the digital world safely. Available in Greek, English and partners’ languages, the training program addresses the diverse needs of participants, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity.
The masterclass delves into various aspects of cybersecurity, offering comprehensive modules that cover topics such as data protection, online privacy, and secure online communication. By fostering a deep understanding of the potential threats in the digital landscape, AWARE Masterclass empowered participants to make informed decisions and protect themselves and their digital assets effectively.
AWARE Self-assessment Kit “Cyber-Guardian” A Playful Approach to Cybersecurity Awareness
Complementing the masterclass, the AWARE Self-assessment Kit “Cyber-Guardian” took participants on a unique journey of interactive learning. This online game serves as a playful yet insightful assessment of cybersecurity awareness among VET teachers and learners. Available in Greek, English and partners’ languages, the Cyber-Guardian kit ensures engagement and relevance for a diverse audience.
Participants were immersed in scenarios and challenges that tested their cyber safety knowledge and decision-making skills. The interactive nature of the game not only made learning enjoyable but also provided valuable insights into areas that may require further attention and improvement. The Cyber-Guardian kit emerges as a cutting-edge tool for evaluating and enhancing cybersecurity awareness in a dynamic and evolving digital landscape.
Bridging the Digital Literacy Gap
The AWARE Workshops we implemented, marked a crucial step in bridging the digital literacy gap among VET learners and educators. The workshops facilitated hands-on experiences, enabling participants to apply the knowledge gained from the masterclass and the Cyber-Guardian game in real-world scenarios. The testing phase not only gauged the effectiveness of the AWARE resources but also provided valuable feedback for continuous improvement.
