In brief

The Project

LOST is a two-year European project implemented by eight partners. The main objective of the project is to address the field of missing persons response and management.

The project will benefit different types of professionals involved in missing children and adults cases by providing them with specialized training and support from technical experts and VET trainers. These professionals may include members of law enforcement agencies, the police, intelligence services, and civil protection authorities, as well as representatives of volunteer organizations or NGOs.

The project will also benefit staff working in public services, such as social workers and psychologists who provide support to families, healthcare professionals, and doctors.

Objectives

What we aim to achieve

The main objectives of the project, as defined in the partnership structure.
To enhance the skills and capabilities of trainers and technical experts during the critical initial phase of an investigation
To define a new core professional profile that will support any law enforcement agency in conducting investigations
To strengthen and improve the social policies of local public authorities to support and protect families, as well as local communities more broadly, from this phenomenon
To develop a new operational model that can be easily adapted and transferred to any EU country, using innovative and open ICT tools
To raise awareness among social groups and local communities through cooperation with Local Public Administrations
The innovation of the “LOST – Learning Opportunities, Instruments and Investigation Techniques to Combat the Growing Phenomenon of Missing People in Europe” project lies in the fact that all partners represent VET providers and sectors that are directly affected by the phenomenon of missing persons
