One of the innovative tools to be delivered with the i-SCHOOL project, the digital interactive game “H-Guardians,” is in its final development stage. Piloting and fine-tuning activities are underway to ensure the final version of the game is ready by March. It will be available as a website and mobile application
The game aims to enrich students’ knowledge and appreciation of European and national cultural heritage by providing intriguing information about significant cultural sites and objects. It has 2 sections.
Section 1: Twelve Virtual Cultural Routes
12 virtual cultural routes with questions to be answered as mini-quests make up the core content of the game. Questions are tailored to different age groups (students aged 10-12 and 13-15) and students will earn “knowledge points” for correct answers. Each route provides simple and interesting information related to the chosen cultural area/object, presented in various interactive ways to maintain students’ interest.
Section 2: A Creative Storytelling ‘Mix & Match’ Section
This part aims to develop students’ knowledge of and engagement with cultural heritage through creative storytelling/writing. It consists of a set of cards in six colors, with each color representing an element of the story. The Storytelling Elements are the scene of the story, the heroine(s)/hero(s) of the story, a problem, an assistant, an assisting object/element, the closure – resolution
The game comes with a User Guide, offering guidance to teachers and administrators on how to effectively use it in the educational environment.
