How can I identify a child’s learning style?

Electronic Diagnostic Tool for parents and teachers of children 6-10 years old

An innovative Electronic Diagnostic Tool for the assessment of cognitive functions and preferred learning styles of children from 6 to 10 years old, has been developed by the project team of the ProLearn project.

What is about?

The Diagnostic Tool has been developed in the form of a questionnaire adopting a Likert-like 6-point scale for a total of 80 questions. The areas investigated are:

  • Cognitive functions: memory, thinking, attention, perception
  • Learning styles: visual, auditory, reading/writing, kinesthetic

Once validated, the Tool will be accessible online via computer, laptop or smartphone, and will constitute a useful tool for identifying the preferred learning styles in children. By providing an automatically generated report, parents and teachers will acquire extensive knowledge about the specificity of cognitive processes and learning styles of each child along with proposed guidelines on how to support them in the learning process.

Pilot testing

The goal of this preliminary phase is to collect data for the validation of the Electronic Diagnostic Tool. Therefore, parents and teachers of children 6-10 years old are invited to participate in the pilot testing of the Tool by filling in the online questionnaire.

The pilot testing of the Tool is being implemented in Greece, Cyprus, Poland, Italy and Romania, with the aim of collecting 1.000 answers from parents and 1.000 answers from teachers of children of 6-10 years old.

Parents and teachers who want to participate in the pilot testing of the Electronic Diagnostic Tool can follow the link bellow.
