While entrepreneurship education is becoming increasingly prominent in Vocational Education and Training (VET), little attention has been given to how individuals with learning difficulties(LDs) can learn and succeed in this field. According to the European Commission, these individuals face significant barriers to accessing VET, leading to low levels of employment and social exclusion.
The ENTRELED project is an initiative that addresses this gap in vocational education. It is funded by the Erasmus+ program and will be implemented by a consortium of 5 organizations from 4 countries: Lithuania, Spain, Italy, and Greece.
Purpose – Participants
With ENTRELED, we aim to empower VET students with learning difficulties by developing their skills and abilities to engage professionally in the circular economy sector. This is because we recognize that entrepreneurship in the circular economy is crucial for promoting sustainable development and creating new job opportunities.
An important aspect of this effort is the role of VET teachers. Therefore, the project aims to strengthen their knowledge and skills in vocational education for individuals with learning difficulties.
Additionally, recognizing the crucial role of the family and relative environment in the success of these individuals, the project provides necessary support to families to improve the social and professional inclusion of the individuals in their care.
Also among the project’s objectives is the creation of a network of stakeholders and organizations, such as VET institutions, circular economy entities, NGOs, and environmental professionals, committed to promoting the integration of VET students with LDs into the circular economy.
Objectives
Through the implementation of ENTRELED, we expect to achieve the following:
- Design a tailored and easily integrated educational itinerary for VET students with learning difficulties, focusing on the circular economy.
- Create a digital educational platform with educational games.
- Promote increased inclusion and collaboration in the job market for VET students facing learning difficulties.
- Bring together trainers, support networks, and organizations to create a network promoting the integration of VET students with learning difficulties into the circular economy job market.
- Empower VET students with learning difficulties with the necessary skills for contribution to the job market of the circular economy.
- Redefine perceptions and enhancing the social sustainability of learning and employment for VET students with learning difficulties.
- Highlighting the principles of the circular economy among all beneficiaries of the project.
Project Deliverables
- ENTRELED aims to create an e-learning course for VET teachers, including short trainings to upgrade their skills, specialize them in the circular economy, and teach individuals with learning difficulties.
- Additionally, 5 digital educational games will be developed for VET students with learning difficulties, promoting entrepreneurship in the circular economy, encouraging social responsibility and acceptance, and addressing issues such as bullying.
The ENTRELED project is a comprehensive initiative aimed at addressing the challenges faced by VET students with learning difficulties, providing them with the necessary support, education, and resources to succeed professionally in the circular economy sector.
