Environmental
Policy

p-consulting.gr adheres to the European environmental policy based on the principles of precaution, prevention, and remediation of environmental damage at the source, as well as the ‘polluter pays’ principle. p-consulting.gr, places particular emphasis on environmental issues, recognizes its obligation, and accepts its responsibilities for its activities, with respect for the environment. Measuring the impact of its activities on the natural environment is a continuous process that evolves annually.

The main pillars of p-consulting.gr‘s Environmental Policy:

  • Responsibility in the use of energy and other natural resources.
  • Continuous investment in new technologies and application of environmentally friendly methods.
  • Minimization of negative operational consequences of devices and computers, ensuring their smooth operation through proper and timely maintenance.
  • Encouragement of its staff to adopt environmentally friendly practices.
  • Development of environmental awareness through appropriate information and education.
  • Active participation in organizations that promote the principles of safety and environmental protection.
  • Participation in international research and development programs that promote efficiency, responsibility, and the reduction of carbon dioxide (CO2) footprint creation.
  • Continuous updating on environmental issues and adoption of new ‘green’ practices.
  • Design and development of online tools, taking into account the lowest possible CO2 emissions.

p-consulting.gr believes in:

  • environmental protection,
  • pollution prevention,
  • sustainable resource use, and
  • climate change mitigation.

p-consulting.gr is committed to:

  • Compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements concerning environmental performance.
  • Fulfilling its obligations and continuously improving its environmental performance.
  • Providing the necessary resources and implementing appropriate actions to continuously improve the Management System.

p-consulting.gr implements the following:

Office & Daily Life:

  • Remote work
p-consulting.gr implements remote work, thereby reducing employees’ daily commutes and, by extension, the CO2 emissions these commutes would entail. At the same time, electricity and other resource demands at the company’s physical premises are reduced.
  • ‘Green’ procurement
Priority is always given to stationery and materials for which recycled materials have been used. At the same time, all devices are procured based on consumption, with preference given to those with the lowest consumption. Existing devices are maintained and upgraded to extend their lifespan. This avoids the unnecessary use of additional plastic and other technological waste.
  • Smart printing
Thanks to the complete digitization of its archives, the p-consulting.gr team has managed to minimize document printing and thus the use of paper and ink. The only prints made are project files whose Contracting Authorities require printed copies.
  • Glass, not plastic
All bottles in the workplace are preferred to be made of glass, replacing short-shelf-life plastic bottles.
  • Use of indoor plants
Indoor plants filter and purify the air. They have the property of acting as ‘sponges’, reducing dust and airborne particles and micro-particles responsible for allergies, sensitivities, and respiratory problems by 20%.
  • Natural lighting
The 270° coverage of p-consulting.gr‘s offices with glass surfaces allows ample natural light to enter, thus freeing the space from the need for electricity. At the same time, the use of awnings and natural ventilation allows for reduced electricity consumption for air conditioning.

Digital:

  • Full digitization of archives
All data (files, documents, notes, etc.) used by p-consulting.gr are in digital format in the cloud, allowing not only better collaboration among employees through fast sharing but also a drastic reduction in the use of stationery (paper, ink, printing materials, etc.). Thus, the company’s files are accessible from anywhere and from any digital device, favoring remote work.
  • Closed cameras
Where not deemed necessary, cameras are turned off during online meetings, thereby contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions.
  • Email attachments
Although individual attachment files produce minimal to zero CO2, their cumulative measurements increase. p-consulting.gr, contributing to the effort to reduce CO2 emissions, uses corporate Dropbox and OneDrive for sharing its files, as well as Google Drive for partners who prefer it, thereby drastically reducing the number of attachments.
  • ‘Green’ websites
The ecological footprint of a website depends on the way its code is written and approached, specifically on code quality, code and file structure, and accessibility.

The quality of the above is linked to the speed of each website, as well as the energy required for its operation. The required energy is inextricably linked to CO2 emissions. Furthermore, for the design, creation, and construction of its online products, it consults and utilizes global tools such as websitecarbon.com and sustainabledesign.org. Its goal is to develop environmentally friendly online tools.

In parallel, p-consulting.gr, based on its environmental policy, collaborates with a hosting company that manages environmentally friendly servers (https://www.domainmarket.gr/), thus achieving the minimization of CO2 emissions through the websites it develops.

Technology:

  • Extended device lifespan
Repair and maintenance of devices, screens, and computers, and their upgrade, with the aim of reducing the number of electrical appliances used.
  • Prevention of digital waste (via cloud computing)
p-consulting.gr uses cloud computing services for storing and managing its files. These services allow the storage of large volumes of files in online databases, thus providing access to a large number of devices. In this way, the volume of files stored on electronic devices is drastically reduced, and by extension, the volume of generated digital waste is also reduced. The above term describes files and data that remain stored on electronic devices and thus contribute to CO2 emissions. At the same time, file cleaning (duplicates, previous versions, etc.) is also carried out to reduce the volume of p-consulting.gr‘s files itself, as a smaller volume means less consumption.

Recycling – Circular Economy

  • Paper packaging
A recycling bin for paper packaging is available in the office.
  • Stationery
  • Batteries
All batteries are rechargeable and reused. In cases where this is no longer possible, batteries are recycled in the corresponding bin (AFIS) located in the office.
  • Plastic packaging – objects
  • Caps

Company participation in a circular economy model. The circular economy is a production and consumption model that involves sharing, reusing, repairing, and recycling existing materials and products as much as possible to extend their life cycle.

  • Electrical appliances

For all electrical appliances, efforts are made for maintenance and repair. If this is not possible, these appliances are recycled in special bins (e.g., PLAISIO, KOTSOVOLOS, etc.).

Business Travel

  • Preference for public transport
  • Preference for rail-bound or hybrid vehicles over conventional vehicles.
  • Effort to synchronize air travel, aiming to use the smallest possible number of vehicles.
  • Preference for airlines with new technology and low-consumption aircraft (such as AEGEAN, Lufthansa, etc.)
  • Use of a corporate electric car for business travel within the country.
Review: The Quality Policy is reviewed annually or when required by an internal or external requirement.
