DCare
“Respite and respect”
DCare is a two-year European Project, which is implemented by nine partners, from Italy, Spain, Belgium, Denmark, United Kingdom and Greece. The main objective of D-care is to train caregivers of people living with dementia (professionals and non-professionals) and trainers of health professionals. Through the creation of an educational program, they will be able to acquire knowledge and competences necessary on how to support people living with dementia and assist them to feel less isolated in their community.
- Train caregivers (professionals and non-professionals) of people with dementia, on how to set up groups for living with dementia, by using Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) as methodology
- Develop an approach of care to help people who experience psychosocial difficulties as a result of dementia, to improve their wellbeing and gain self-confidence with engaging socially
- Improve the knowledge of non-professional caregivers about dementia
- Contribute to the wellbeing of people living with dementia, by improving the knowledge, skills & developing preventive and care recommendations to their caregivers

The outputs of the D-Care project are the following:
