Time always marches on. Till now at least, we have not found a way to rewind it. And even if time is a matter of perception, and really, just the result of the great relationship between matter and gravity, in our perception, it still marches on. Simply put, with time, things happen. What happens is not good or bad, not in terms of the macro-Universe. Again, in our world, things are different, since for the sake of everything we have established a set-list of do’s and don’ts. Agreement upon or not is a different subject, the list is there to hold the line of balance.
So, as mentioned, time is the means through which things happen. But equally important is our reflection on past times, where things have already happened. What we understand, our perception of things, the lessons that accrue, and where do we stand on all that. How we choose to explain, analyze, and teach ourselves through the Heritage, that past times have left behind.
Looking Back
It was a bit complicated that one! So many words to just say that, “look, folks, please take a look at what happened before, and for the love of god, take a lesson from the bad, and hold on to the good ones”. Past holds, among other things, valuable lessons, all of them worth of our time and focus. Lessons that if we take into account, we are in for a much better future.
Such was the mindset of the people behind the i-School project. The recognition that is, of the social and educational value of European Cultural Heritage, what studying and learning about its aspects and different expressions has to offer to the present, and the future. And by identifying that need, the project came to life, in order to apply the matter in the educational practices of primary and secondary schools. In order to create a network of collaboration between schools on one hand, students and educators alike, and Cultural Institutions and centers, and museums, on the other.
Looking Forward
And by this, we come to the present today, where i-School is taking flesh and bones, steadily making its way to educational existence. Progress is being made with each passing day, which eventually led to the partnership’s 2nd Transnational Project Meeting! It takes place in Rome, Italy, as we speak, and it is a first class chance for the partners of the project to meet, go through the must-do catching-up, discuss on the matters of the project, and how they’ve progressed during the last few months, and effectively pave the way for the following actions.
The partners are taking a close and detailed look at the educational game, which is under development, the e-learning platform, and of course, the educational courses that will focus on educators and students alike. Everything is progressing, and partners are making sure that all of the above, become the best versions of themselves.
The Next Day
The next day finds us on a route, which seems to be even clearer than before. The partnership is connected with strong bonds, thus working as one, towards a common goal. Introducing Cultural Heritage in Education is not an easy task, well education is rather difficult to approach as it is, but the cause is righteous, the tools are there, the people are willing. The adventure continues!
