Artificial Intelligence (AI) is now part of our daily lives, and the challenges as well as the opportunities it offers in the field of entrepreneurship are significant. Supporting existing businesses and establishing new ones require the recognition that proficiency in understanding and utilizing AI technologies is a vital digital skill.
In consideration of this, the European Union and the Erasmus+ program have prioritized the development of skills and knowledge related to Artificial Intelligence among citizens, including those involved in vocational education.
In this context, we have developed the EMPOWERAI project, funded by the Erasmus+ program and set to be implemented by 5 partners from Ireland, Finland, Greece Spain and Italy.
The project aims to improve the digital competence and utilization of AI tools among female entrepreneurs or women intending to initiate their businesses, with a focus on entrepreneurship.
EMPOWERAI is designed to benefit the following groups:
Female entrepreneurs: Ensuring they have the digital knowledge and AI tools to support various aspects of entrepreneurship, such as market integration, marketing, sales, customer service, and financial management.
VET teachers: Familiarizing them with the benefits and advantages of Artificial Intelligence so that they can incorporate it into their curriculums. This will increase their readiness to empower female entrepreneurs and the next generation of female entrepreneurs with the knowledge and skills required for the effective use of these tools.
VET students: This group will indirectly benefit, as the project will equip the next generation of entrepreneurs with tools and methods to leverage Artificial Intelligence in their business endeavors after graduation.
Through the implementation of the project, we also aim to improve gender inequalities, as research indicate that more women than men lack knowledge about how to harness Artificial Intelligence.
The tools that will be developed through EMPOWERAI are:
- A digital library with AI tools, including resources such as AI-powered chatbots, analytics tools, and learning platforms.
- An e-learning course, offering a variety of educational materials for AI training, including interactive lessons, educational videos, quizzes, and case studies.
By implementing EMPOWERAI, we aim to help female entrepreneurs view Artificial Intelligence as an “ally” that will support them in their work. They can benefit from using AI tools to develop their business ideas and cope with the increasingly digital and competitive environment in which modern entrepreneurship operates.
