As Supply Chain Management<\/strong> or Logistics<\/strong> is defined the operation of the enterprise, engaged in all activities relating to the design<\/strong>, implementation<\/strong> and control<\/strong> of the efficient financial flow and storage of raw materials, inventory of processes, final products and all the related information.<\/p>\n

Logistics may not be such a popular sector as others, but has recently come\u00a0dynamically at the forefront of greek entrepreneurship<\/strong>, and\u00a0according to the speakers at the last Hellenic-German Chamber of Commerce’s<\/strong> event, Logistics is just as profitable as the tourism industry!<\/p>\n

In Greece, the Logistics\u00a0 sector has large profit margins due to the development of new infrastructures in ports<\/strong> and airports<\/strong> as well as the gradual integration of large road axes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nWhy is supply chain management in an enterprise so important?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In order a business to function properly must have a smooth flow<\/strong> in all its functions<\/strong> as well as in its production process<\/strong>. Proper and sophisticated use of management systems in the internal organization of sales and ordering, transport, storage and stock management of a business or organization is considered to be extremely necessary<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

So, it is no coincidence, that almost every day we talk about a\u00a0better<\/strong> and more efficient<\/strong> operation of the supply chain at both national<\/strong> and incorporate<\/strong> level. Supply chain management can greatly reduce the costs<\/strong> of a business and thus bring more profits<\/strong> to it, in an environment that due to financial instability even a small mistake, acts catastrophically.<\/p>\n

Because of the great importance of Logistics<\/strong> for a business or organization, there are other\u00a0companies (third parties) that provide services such as storage of raw materials<\/strong>, transportation<\/strong>, distribution<\/strong>, etc. In this way, are achieved\u00a0reliable results<\/strong> and costs<\/strong> are further reduced.<\/p>\n

An important point at\u00a0these services is the telecommunication<\/strong> and data management<\/strong> service that has been added to the other traditional services. Some of these\u00a0modern services are the monitoring of online orders<\/strong>, electronic receipt of or non-receipt of products, customer service centers by telephone<\/strong> or via internet<\/strong> and personalized services designed to meet the particular needs of each business \/ organization.<\/p>\n

\nSupply chain is a very important aid for any small or large business as it can increase profitability and productivity, and also minimize the margin of error while giving a competitive advantage.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
