The terms of mentoring<\/a> and coaching<\/a> have come in business spotlight intensely over the last years, and this is no coincidence. Many times, however, there is a confusion about what exactly is meant by the term mentoring<\/strong> and what by the term coaching<\/strong>. The coaching completion may take even few sessions.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The main purpose of mentoring is the gradual<\/strong> improvement and overall development of the person both during the mentoring, and during the rest of his professional career.<\/p>\n Coaching is based on the individual’s performance<\/strong> in specific tasks and skills, and when those skills reach the desirably results, the coach is no longer necessary.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Mentoring is based on an strategically selected planning, which will gradually<\/strong> create a relationship of trust between mentor and mentee, and will guide the second.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Coaching with the creation of\u00a0a simple plan, can begin immediately<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What training process to choose?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n <\/p>\n The choice between the two actions is not easy, and sometimes, it is not easily distinguishable, what\u00a0the learner really needs.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n If the person is able to specifically identify his\u00a0needs<\/strong>, the coaching<\/strong> is appropriate for him. If someone does not have a specific need, but needs advice<\/strong> and guidance<\/strong> then mentoring<\/strong> fits him the best.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The combination of the two training\u00a0actions are not prohibitive, but quite the contrary.
