Our New Project DigitalECEC2 Kicks Off in Belgrade

The first transnational partner meeting of the newly launched DigitalECEC2 project took place on January 15-16, 2026, in Belgrade, marking the official start of an exciting journey to transform early childhood education across Europe.

Over two highly productive days, partners from diverse European countries came together to discuss the future of the project, share ideas, and align on key goals. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for partners to connect, exchange experiences, and plan the upcoming steps for integrating Artificial Intelligence into early childhood education.

A special highlight of the meeting was the visit to Dečja Radost, a local kindergarten and one of the key project partners. The partners were given a guided tour of the kindergarten, gaining insights into how early childhood education is delivered in practice. This experience deepened the partners’ understanding of the real-world setting they are working to support and further motivated them for the project ahead.

The DigitalECEC2 project is designed to empower early childhood educators, school leaders, and parents with the knowledge and tools to use AI in ways that are child-centred, ethical, and responsible. The discussions focused on creating AI-based tools that support personalised learning, foster child development, and help simplify school administration.

The collaborative spirit throughout the meeting set a strong foundation for the future. With clear objectives and a shared vision, DigitalECEC2 is off to a strong start, and the partners are excited about the next steps in this transformative project.
