On 29 April 2026, the COOPSKILLS Launch Event, titled “From Learning Cities to Learning Companies,” will take place online from 10:00 to 12:00 CET, bringing together stakeholders from across Europe to discuss the future of reskilling and lifelong learning. The event will introduce the vision and early progress of the Erasmus+ project COOPSKILLS, which aims to strengthen local skills ecosystems in response to the green and digital transition.
COOPSKILLS promotes new collaborative models that connect municipalities, education providers, chambers of commerce, and businesses. Through the development of Learning Companies and the establishment of locally coordinated Reskilling Labs, the project seeks to embed lifelong learning into everyday working life and support workers, unemployed adults, and vulnerable groups in acquiring future-oriented skills.
During the event, participants will learn about the project’s initial research findings and the practical framework that will guide the implementation of these initiatives. The agenda also includes a session on the UNESCO Learning Cities approach, as well as a roundtable discussion exploring how local ecosystems can respond to skills shortages and support continuous workforce development.
Participation in the event is free of charge, but registration is required in order to receive the access link. The session will conclude with an open discussion where participants will have the opportunity to share questions and reflections with the speakers and panellists.
We warmly invite policymakers, educators, employers, and stakeholders interested in lifelong learning and skills development to join us for this exchange of ideas and perspectives.
