Digital Educational Games for Children Aged 4-12 and Pilot Testing of a Robotic Voice Assistant Application

P-consulting.gr successfully hosted a highly engaging event on Thursday, December 5, 2024, titled “Digital Educational Games for Children Aged 4-12 and Pilot Testing of a Robotic Voice Assistant Application.” The event took place in the conference hall of the Patras Port Authority S.A (P.P.A. S.A.) and served as a significant milestone in highlighting the connection between education and technology.

An Interactive Experience for Children

More than 30 children of various ages participated in this interactive event, where they had the opportunity to engage with the digital educational games developed by the p-consulting.gr team. The young participants were thrilled by the experience and had the unique chance to interact with Pepper, a robot that captivated the attention of attendees, both young and old.

Innovation in the Pilot Application

At the core of the event was the pilot application, “Voice Interfaces and Children”, designed and developed by Vasilis Kyriakopoulos, a team member of p-consulting.gr, as part of his postgraduate studies titled “Technologies and Services for Intelligent Information and Communication Systems.” This research was conducted at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of the Peloponnese, under the scientific guidance of Professor Spyros Syrmakezis.

This innovative application, implemented using the Pepper robot, aims to enhance children’s interaction with voice interfaces, strengthening the connection between technology and educational practices. The Pepper robot was graciously provided by Ragavanis Group of Companies and Mr. George Ragavanis, who supported the implementation of this groundbreaking idea.
