LOST2: The final partners’ meeting and closing conference of a socially impactful project

On May 20 and 21, 2025, the final transnational meeting of the LOST2 project partners took place in Brussels, marking the conclusion of a productive and meaningful collaboration that lasted 30 months. The meeting was hosted by EfVET and included presentations of the achievements of each partner, feedback on the pilot implementation of the educational platform, discussion on dissemination activities, as well as the preparation of the final conference. The LOST2 project focused on defining professional competences related to missing persons and on promoting the recognition of those competences across Europe.

During the meeting, partners had the opportunity to present the final outcomes of the project, exchange feedback, and jointly prepare the last steps before completion. The p-consulting.gr team, as the project’s technical partner, presented the progress of the LOST2 online training platform, developed to serve as an Open Educational Resource for professionals working with missing persons cases.

The following day, the project’s final conference was held at the Umbria Region Office in Brussels, titled “Bridging Gaps, Saving Lives: Strengthening Search and Rescue Across Europe”. The event brought together speakers from key organizations such as Missing Children Europe, Child Focus Belgium, and other institutions working in the field of child protection and vulnerable populations.

During the conference, participants were introduced to the project’s main results, national research findings, and the new European Training Curriculum on missing persons. Attendees also explored the LOST2 online training platform, now publicly available as a free learning tool.

The atmosphere was warm and emotional, as the project concludes but the bonds and shared efforts among partners leave behind a strong legacy of collaboration and social contribution.
