Closing of the Sun in the Age: A journey of mindfulness and well-being

On 30 December 2024, the final phase of the Sun in the Age project, an important and ambitious project under the Erasmus+ KA2 programme, will officially end. The project, in which we participated as a partner, set the goal to enhance the quality of life of older people through relaxation, mindfulness and meditation techniques.

The innovative project deliverables

The Sun in the Age partnership has developed a series of important deliverables, which are freely available to all on the official project website. The main ones include:

  • Best practices and case studies: A compendium presenting applied mindfulness and meditation techniques in various countries of the EU.
  • Blended training programme: An online training tool for adult educators to empower them in REMIND techniques.
  • Digital Training Booklets for the implementation of workshops for older people: Digital training tools with the results and documented impact of workshops for older people held in partner countries, facilitating the practical application of relaxation and mindfulness techniques.

The deliverables can be found here.

Educational workshops: A field of action

p-consulting.gr held two workshops and a multiplier event about the project, on 11 and 13 November 2024, at the B’ KAPI of Patras, which were very well received by the participants. The 2-day events included:

  • Presentations and practices of mindfulness, breathing and emotion recording.
  • Activities aimed at reducing stress and enhancing emotional relaxation.
  • Collection of questionnaires and video interviews to document the experience of all those who participated.

Participants shared their gratitude for the events, while the organisers recorded valuable testimonies that enhanced the evaluation of the project. We would like to thank the Head of B KAPI Patras, Roula Sakkelaropoulou, the certified pranic healing trainer, Stelios Zographidis, and the Social Work interns for their participation and contribution to the 2-day events. Watch the video of the participants’ testimonials here.

Final newsletter: A gaze into the future

The 4th newsletter includes the final transnational meeting in Leipzig and summarises the main achievements of the project, underlining the importance of sustainability of the results. It also focuses on the need to continue innovative educational practices to support older people.
