On Saturday, 8 February 2025, a Multiplier Event on the results of the iLearn4Health project was held in Patras, as part of its final implementation phase. It was organised by the Hygiene Laboratory of the Medical School of the University of Patras and brought together educators, researchers, and professionals from the fields of health and education.
The conference focused on the use of digital tools and gamification in health education, highlighting the potential of modern technology to enhance the teaching process. The programme included insightful presentations by distinguished speakers.
- Professor A. Vantarakis, Professor of Hygiene at the Medical School of the University of Patras, presented the iLearn4Health project and emphasised the importance of health promotion in primary schools through digital tools.
- Dr E. Kostopoulou, Assistant Professor of Paediatric Endocrinology at the Medical School of the University of Patras, spoke about childhood obesity.
- Dr E. Magriplis, Assistant Professor of Nutritional Epidemiology & Public Health at the Agricultural University of Athens and Visiting Professor at the Medical School of the University of Patras, analysed the importance of nutrition and an active lifestyle in childhood.
- Dr E. Gkintoni, Clinical Psychologist and Doctor of Neuropsychology, presented innovative educational tools for health promotion.
In the second part of the multiplier event, participants were divided into groups and discussed topics such as nutrition and health, diversity and stigma, personal hygiene and accident prevention, as well as mental health and addictions. In addition to the speakers, Dr E. Papachatzi (MD, MPH, PhD), Paediatrician at the Paediatric Clinic of PGNP and Postdoctoral Researcher at the Hygiene Laboratory of the Medical School of the University of Patras, also participated in these discussions. Through this process, educators and experts exchanged experiences and proposals for improving health education in schools.
The conference concluded with a discussion on the applications of iLearn4Health tools in educational practice and the presentation of the Health4EUKids programme, which focuses on preventing childhood obesity through interventions in schools and communities.
iLearn4Health is investing in innovation in health education, providing tools that support educators and inspire children to adopt healthy habits from an early age. This conference was an important opportunity to disseminate the project’s results and strengthen collaboration between educators, researchers, and health professionals.
