The Hygiene Laboratory of the Medical School at the University of Patras, through the University of Patras Lifelong Learning Center, invites primary education teachers to participate in an innovative asynchronous online training program entitled “Health Promotion and Education through Digital Learning”. This program combines health promotion with the application of digital gamification, offering pioneering tools and practices.
It has been developed within the framework of the European Erasmus+ project “iLearn4Health | Health Promotion and Health Education in Children through Digital Game-Based Learning”. Its aim is to equip primary school teachers with the skills necessary to teach topics related to health promotion and education to students aged 6-12, using gamification methods.
Program goals and content
- Providing knowledge and skills for teaching health-related topics, such as healthy nutrition, active lifestyles, accident prevention, combating stereotypes, online safety, and sexual education.
- Integrating interactive digital tools and educational games into daily teaching practices.
- Enriching the learning experience of students aged 6-12 by enhancing their engagement in innovative activities.
- Supporting teachers in building sustainable skills in health promotion practices.

Participation process
The program is open for registration from December 20, 2024 to January 31, 2025. The course includes nine training modules, which are gradually opened. Participants will have access to the material until February 8, 2025.

Teachers are encouraged to implement the digital tools and games in the classroom to evaluate their effectiveness and enhance the learning process.
Upon completing the program and successfully passing the assessment tests, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion.
