The unemployment rate came to 26.6% in the total of the country in the 1st quarter of 2015, noting a small rise in relation to the 4th quarter of 2014 which was 26.1%, according to ELSTAT data. Related to the 1st quarter of 2014, the unemployment rate was reduced by 1.2 percentage points.
The unemployment in young people, although in the 1st quarter of 2015 was marginally reduced, it remains standstill in alarming high levels. Particularly, the unemployment rate came up to 44% in age group of 15-29, 25.69% in the age group of 30-44 and 20.02% in the age group of 45-65.
