AGORA is an Erasmus+ KA2 European project designed to support adult educators and those interested in designing sustainable and regenerative tourism experiences. The project aims to promote new approaches to tourism that respect the environment and empower local communities by providing appropriate tools and educational resources.
The Deliverables that shape the Way
- Interactive Map of AGORA
The map is a practical source of inspiration for trainers and practitioners. It includes examples of best practices in sustainable and regenerative tourism from different European countries. Through it, one can identify local operators, producers and tourism initiatives that enhance sustainable development and consider how similar practices can be implemented in their own communities. This educational resource is freely available online, in English and in the languages of AGORA partners (French, Italian, Spanish, Greek, Finnish and Bulgarian), here.
- AGORA Guide
The Guide provides adult educators with a solid theoretical basis for regenerative tourism. It analyses trends, benefits and challenges and presents case studies from partner countries. It is an essential tool for training those who want to understand the basic principles and become actively involved in creating authentic tourism experiences. It is also freely available online here.
- AGORA Blended Training Programme
The most recent achievement of the project partners is the development of a training programme with 7 thematic modules, specifically designed for adult educators and tourism professionals, or people aspiring to become involved in the sector. The modules focus on topics such as:
- The basic principles of sustainable tourism and current trends.
- Working with local communities to co-design tourism activities.
- The use of technology to enhance tourism experiences.
- Communication strategies and promotion strategies for sustainable and regenerative tourism products.
The programme provides theoretical training and practical tools, enhancing participants’ skills to create and promote tourism experiences that respect the environment and highlight local identity. It will soon be freely available online in English and in the languages of the project partners.
