COOPSKILLS
COOPeration of public and private players to reskill and upSKILL workerS
COOPSKILLS is an Erasmus+ project co-funded by the European Union, lasting 36 months and implemented by 12 partners from Greece, Cyprus, Poland, Lithuania, and Spain. The project promotes a new vision of lifelong learning by transforming local businesses into “Learning Companies” and creating municipality-led Reskilling Labs. These structures aim to help communities and workers adapt to the demands of the green and digital economy.
COOPSKILLS introduces the concept of the “Learning Companies” as a practical extension of UNESCO’s Learning Cities framework. It aims to embed lifelong learning into the everyday life of businesses and municipalities by creating spaces and strategies for continuous upskilling. Through the development of Reskilling Labs at the municipal level—managed by municipalities, VET providers, and local chambers—the project seeks to improve workforce adaptability, promote inclusion, and bridge the gap between declining sectors and emerging green and digital industries. By fostering collaboration among local stakeholders, COOPSKILLS contributes to community resilience, employment readiness, and regional development.
- Workers in transition, unemployed, and inactive individuals from declining sectors in need of skills towards the green and digital economy (Specific attention will be paid to the lower skilled and vulnerable individuals, as well as those who are the most reluctant to engage in training in adult age)
- Companies interested in transforming into learning organisations
- Local chambers and business associations
- Municipal authorities and policy makers at local and regional level
- Vocational Education and Training (VET) providers and career counsellors
- Educators and professionals involved in adult education and lifelong learning
